Very interesting study in contrasting styles. Kudos to both men for toughing out what had to be immense pain.

What this showed me, all said and done, is the absolutely brutal effectiveness of well executed leg kicks. Their effectiveness can't be stated strongly enough. MMA fights are still ended with leg kicks. 

I remember a special exhibition fight, back in the day when I followed kickboxing closely - where an entire Muay Thai team came over and faced a team of American kick-boxers - in every weight class. It was about as you'd expect, a slaughter. I think the Americans won one...maybe two, of those fights.
