Subject: The History of The Eagles Fri Mar 21, 2014 12:31 am
I'm not sure if there are many Eagles fans here at MMA Chat, but the Eagles were always one of my favorite bands since the early 70s.
The incredible harmonies, heart-felt lyrics, passionate songwriting, and after the band progressed to a more rock-oriented sound after adding Don Felder to the band, then later on Joe Walsh, made for some incredible lead guitar work on top of everything I already enjoyed about the accumulative talents of the band members.
I watched the "History of The Eagles" on Showtime the other day, and enjoyed it so much that I watched it again tonight.
If you're an Eagles fan, I highly recommend this 2 part documentary... it reminded of the days when I played in rock-n-roll bands with all of the unseen drama that goes on in a band, while outwardly to the public the magic of the music and the camaraderie between the band members appears to be perfect.
It rarely ever is, and the tension between the band members almost inevitably comes to a boiling point between the musical direction the band is headed in, along with the envy between the musicians, creative differences and who is actually the "leader" of the band responsible for the sound of the band.
I can't list all of my favorite Eagles tunes, but here are some of my favorites...
